Cordless Scanner Improves Efficiency
Ace Waste Group approached Capacity Systems with a view to replacing its existing tethered scanners with a solution that would allow operators to scan waste bin barcodes without having to worry about being restricted by the length of cord from the scanner back to the PC.
Requiring a lightweight, cost effective and robust scanner, as well as having to scan barcodes of various quality, the Intermec Scanplus 1802 cordless scanner was recommended.
The appeal to Ace Waste was the ability to walk up to 10 metres from the PC to scan the bins, without the encumbrance of a cable connection.
This in-turn allowed for improved efficiency processing bins as well as reduced handling.
